5 Lessons I’ve Learned From Tapping Into My Inner Well
While intense emotions can feel overwhelming in the moment, they are usually fleeting. Once you tap into your inner well of knowing, these reactions often dissipate. Let the emotions move through you without feeding into their stories.
Whether you call it the heart, mind, or spirit, there’s an inner well that connects you to deeper perspective and energy. You can often feel its presence during intense emotional moments. Personally, I notice it most when tough emotions like anger or jealousy arise. When panic sets in, the world can feel like an emergency, but accessing this inner well helps us stay grounded and connected to our best selves.
Here are 5 lessons I’ve learned about the ‘inner well’ since becoming a Theta Healer and Creative Coach:
Tough emotions are temporary. While intense emotions can feel overwhelming in the moment, they are usually fleeting. Once you tap into your inner well of knowing, these reactions often dissipate. Let the emotions move through you without feeding into their stories.
Feeding negative emotions makes them grow. Ever find yourself spiraling into paranoia or suspicion? We’ve all been there, trying to confirm our fears by gathering evidence. But when you feed these emotions, they only get stronger. Instead of engaging in behaviors like "stalking your ex’s profile” or overthinking, resist the urge, and you’ll find peace and clarity much faster.
You are never alone in the inner well. Many clients I work with experience a sense of wisdom from their inner well. Often, when I ask who’s speaking, they’ll receive answers from ancestors, parents, or loved ones. You are made up of a unique constellation of experiences that shape your being. Just ask, and you might be surprised by who’s lending their voice.
We limit ourselves based on safety and conservation of energy. If there is not enough energy in the system (usually because it’s being held up by limiting beliefs or generational traumas) then expanding your vision for what is possible in your life will feel like carrying a bag of boulders up a hill in order to see the view. When we release and understand what is taking up our energy, our visions expand!
Your inner well will always surprise you. What you think your issues are might not be the full picture! We are all made of a web of energy, with layers and patterns that tell unique stories. This complexity is part of the magic of evolution of life — it draws strength from the diversity of our origins and our experiences. Where we are today is not just a reflection of our own lives, but of the life forces flowing through everything.
Learning to tap into our inner well is not a one size fits all formula, but rather a pratice that grows stronger over time. On my journey, taping into this energy forced me to let go and to surrender to many situations that I was grasping to keep in my life (now I know why - because they gave me a safety net rather than trusting myself). The grieving process for letting these attachments go can be painful and tumultuous, but if we trust the process, we end up connecting with a resilience that we would not know otherwise. So trust the process, and dive in!
